This is the place where all the fun and excitement exist. Tour the Disney Parks, water parks, attractions, museums and science centers.
Starting out at the Orlando Official Visitor Center, 8723 International Drive, head over to Sea World for a day of entertainment. You will visit the famous, 6,000-pound killer whale named “Shamu”, also dolphins, barracuda and sharks, even penguins. Next, take Sea Harbor Drive to International Drive and make a left turn and drive north. This is the “Main Street” which can lead you to mostly all entertainment, restaurants, attractions, shopping and nightlife. Some choices may include Ripley’s Believe It or Not! King Henry’s Feast Dinner Show or Arabian Nights. Continue to drive north which will take you to Wet ‘n’ Wild and then turning left onto Kirkman Road, which will lead you into Universal Studios.
Next part of this tour takes you into Downtown Orlando. Heading south along Kirkman Road, take I-4 going north. Exit off at 38, and turn right onto Orange Avenue, then right onto Church Street. This is a great evening spot for entertainment. Whether you prefer Country and Western, Dixieland or Can-Can, Church Street Station will provide you with saloons, restaurants and places to kick your heels. You can even enjoy a journey around Lake Eola Park by horse and carriage, which departs right from Rosie O’Grady’s on Church Street.
One block north of Church Street is Central Boulevard, head east and turns left on Summerlin Avenue, then right on Colonial Drive and take the second left onto Mills Avenue. Turn right on Nebraska Street, which will lead you to North Forest Avenue. This is Leu Gardens. A 22-acre site with tranquil gardens and a restored mansion. Leu Gardens reflects the existence of wealthy farmers during the years of 1910 thru 1930.
Continuing on through Merrit Park, Lakeside and Lakeshore to Mead Botanical Gardens on Nottingham Street, this leads back to Mills Avenue. Turn left and soon to your right is Loch Haven Park. This is home to arts and culture, science and history galleries. Visit the Orlando Science Center, the Orlando Museum of Art and the Orange County Historical Museum for a delightful day of education. This concludes this tour, take Mills Avenue to Colonial Drive going west and follow signs to I-4 west, then exit to Sea world.
