Map: Miami
Starting out at the vibrant Bayside Marketplace, drive 3.5 miles on Biscayne Boulevard. The first stop will be the American Police Hall of Fame and Police Museum, which exhibits exclusive and intriguing artifacts. Next, continuing north for 1 mile, turn left onto NE 54th Street, then right onto NE 2nd Avenue, which brings you to the Morningside Historic District. This is five blocks of Art Deco and Mediterranean Style homes. Heading north another mile brings you to Little Haiti, where you can find exotic produce and the Caribbean Marketplace for really great arts and crafts. Continue across Little River past NE 87th Street and turn right onto NW 79th Street, which becomes the John F. Kennedy Causeway. Turn left at the beach onto Collins Avenue; this is North Miami Beach. A peaceful, yet sophisticated area that is filled with blooming tropical flora. Heading north for two miles brings you to Bal Harbor, the classiness of one square mile. The Bal Harbor Shopping Mall offers the selection of many fine designer stores like Chanel, Gucci and Cartier. Shop Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, the largest of their stores in the state of Florida. The center of this mall, expounds a setting of a luxurious tropical garden. Continuing on Collins Avenue, turn left onto Interama Boulevard and turn right on US 1. This is where you will visit the beautiful Ancient Spanish Monastery. This structure was originally constructed in Spain, way back in 1141. Segments were brought over by ship in 1925 and kept in storage for over 20 years. Then it was reassembled. It now holds the finest medieval art collections. Continuing on US 1 for 9 miles will bring you into Dania, a town filled many antique shops. Treasures can be had, even large items like furniture and lighting fixtures. Dania is well known for jai-alai, the fastest ballgame in the world. With speeds up to 188mph, this exciting game is a thrill to experience. Next, head to Stirling Road and go west. Head north on US 441 and west on Griffin Road/SR 818 until you see Flamingo Gardens, and Everglades Holiday Park. Drive south to Miami on US 27. Turn east onto US 934/NW 74th Street, and head east for two miles. Turn left onto East 4th Avenue, which brings you to Hialeah Park, the world’s most luxurious racetrack. This 228-acre park is open daily for tours and racing season runs from March to May. Heading back on 25th Street west, which turns into NW 79th Street, go 5.5 miles, then turn right onto US 1 and go south for four miles which returns you to the Bayside Marketplace.

this is a great way to see the city if you don't get mugged along the way as it takes you through some areas that aren't so safe and don't take the tour after dark!
