“The Spring” in Spring Park is nestled serenely along the western bank of the St. John’s
River in Greens Cove Springs, and is one of the premier natural wonders of Northeast Florida. The historic sulfur mineral spring flows at a rate of 3,000 gallons per minute,
maintaining a constant temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit year round, and has a visual
depth of 28 feet. In the late 1800’s, the so-called “healing powers” of the spring water
attracted a surge of northern vacationers to "The Spring."
If it’s family fun you want, Palatka has many fairs and festivals throughout
the year, some with top entertainment. So, whatever you enjoy doing,
Palatka is the right place for it.
