New Port Richey, located on the Gulf Coast in West Pasco County, boasts a distinctive small-town charm and proximity to major metropolitan areas. You'll enjoy comfortable winters here - January temperatures range in the 60's and summertime temperatures hover near 80 degrees. Gentle Gulf breezes keep things pleasant, a relief from sizzling summer temperatures found elsewhere in the South.

A recreational paradise, New Port Richey offers leisurely pursuits for every interest, age and activity level. The blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico beckon water sports enthusiasts, for scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, canoeing and fresh and salt water fishing. Anclote Island, a small island accessible only by boat, is surrounded by emerald green waters, where families may swim, fish, sail or Jet Ski. You can catch a fishing charter when you journey on the Cotee River at Starkey Wilderness Park, which offers great opportunities to see New Port Richey's varied ecosystem. Or, visit Sims Park, which offers a super playground, walkways along the river, pavilions and an outdoor stage.

If golf is your game, you'll thrill to the incredible array of private, semi-private and public courses, many of PGA caliber.

An incredible assortment of stores beckon shoppers with fantastic selections in a friendly atmosphere. Antique lovers will be thrilled with the wealth of treasures offered by a multitude of shops here, and flea markets give browsers a chance to unearth major bargains.

Since 1922, the Chasco Fiesta has honored the romantic legend of a Spanish boy and girl, a priest and the Calusa Indian tribe who captured them after defeating a Spanish expedition. This festival offers eleven days of family fun and entertainment. Along the banks of the beautiful Pithlachascotee River in downtown New Port Richey, this time-honored tradition allows visitors to witness a traditional Native American festival, float decorated watercraft, or attend one of the areas largest street parades. Other activities include the Coronation Ball, a world record beef barbecue, a concert featuring popular country music stars, a street carnival, arts & crafts show, golf and horseshoe tournaments, a flea market and antique show, as well as the Little Indian Run, 5K and 1OK races. The activities will thrill and delight any member of your family, and the best part is that most of them are free!!

Whatever rest and relaxation activity you prefer, you can be assured that it awaits you in New Port Richey!
