Marco Island is located in Collier County, along the southwest Gulf Coast. It is 15 miles southeast of Naples, 53 miles south of Ft. Myers and 100 miles west of Miami.

Marco Island is the largest of the Ten Thousand Islands. Its beauty is in its informal, low-key ambience.

In the last 30 years, Marco Island has been developed considerably since it was once the domain of the Calusa Indians. High rises now run along the 3 ½ mile sugar-white sandy beach.

Visit the Tigertail Public Beach, which is on the island's north end. Known as the Sand Dollar Island, it stretches for 1 ½ miles, and has a sandbar that creates a shallow lagoon. The beach offers volleyball and playgrounds and windsurfing lessons. Why not rent a pontoon boat for the great nature and shelling tours? There is also a beach restaurant.

Come ride the Marco Island Trolley Tour, which takes you past some of the earliest sites of the cultural contact between Native Americans and Europeans. For history lovers, there are 11 markers, including the Cushing Archaeological Site, where you can see 3,500-year-old Native American artifacts.

There are several wonderful family resorts to stay at, such as the Radisson, the Marriott and the Hilton.

If you desire a more quiet stay, there are a number of quaint Bed and Breakfast inns which caters to those who love romance.

With over 30 campgrounds and RV parks nestled within the everglades, you will enjoy outdoor adventures year round.

Come and enjoy a relaxing vacation on Marco Island.
