Traveling Around Florida & Need A Lift?
Florida is a large state, and most of its major cities are just a hop, skip, or a jump away from each other. But not to worry, transportation between them is very easy!
Depending on your destination, flights will be the quickest way to travel from each of the large tourist spots in Florida. There are airports in Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Key West, Melbourne, Miami, Orlando, Panama City Beach, Pensacola, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, St. Augustine, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Tampa, Valparaiso, and West Palm Beach.
If you have a little extra time, and are trying to save your cash, trains are an excellent mode of transportation. They have luxurious sleeping and dining cars, and can really be a vacation in and of itself! The trains travel throughout Florida, stopping in all the major cities.
Taxi Cabs are a very common mode of transportation, especially around the major metropolitan areas. They are typically very safe, and a very effective way to get across the city. Car services are also a common way to and from the airport. However, if you’ll be in Florida for a while, it might be best just to rent a car!
Most hotels offer free shuttles, so do your research before booking transportation elsewhere.
